Our coaches, with their personal experiences of overcoming addiction, provide empathetic peer support and guidance. Professional Assessments
At CATCH Recovery Dublin, we offer an array of outpatient services tailored to individual addiction treatment needs. If you’re uncertain about your addiction or appropriate treatment, we recommend a professional addiction consultation. This consultation is a 90-minute meeting with a dedicated specialist, who will listen to your experiences, evaluate your substance use, and review your history.
After the consultation, a detailed explanation of the proposed treatments will be provided, allowing you to make an informed decision. If a higher level of care is required than what we can provide, we will gladly connect you to our trusted inpatient partners. Post-consultation, we remain available for follow-up discussions and if you decide to commit to treatment, we’ll craft a personalised care plan to guide you on your journey towards addiction freedom. Group Therapy
Group therapy at CATCH Recovery Dublin involves facilitators (typically a therapist) engaging with multiple patients, providing a platform for sharing experiences, challenges, and victories in a secure environment. It’s an effective form of psychotherapy, often combined with individual therapy.
Group therapy fosters community and support by connecting individuals facing similar struggles, reducing feelings of isolation and shame. It encourages feedback and accountability, helping to identify behavioural patterns contributing to addiction and establish strategies to manage triggers and cravings. Furthermore, participants can learn from others’ experiences and insights, broadening perspectives and providing new coping mechanisms. Find out more.
-
Family Therapy
Addiction can severely impact families, damaging relationships, causing financial issues, and leading to emotional distress. Family members may feel helpless, burdened, anxious, or depressed. Family counselling at CATCH Recovery offers a platform to address these issues, reinforce bonds, and identify underlying factors contributing to addiction.
The therapy helps in understanding the reasons behind substance misuse as a coping mechanism. It equips family members with skills to cope with relapses and better ways to provide support during recovery, including recognising the problem, setting boundaries, and offering emotional support. The approach focuses on holistic treatment, fostering constructive conflict resolution and communication. Find out more.

Couples Therapy
Addiction doesn’t just affect the individual, it also impacts their entire support system, particularly close relationships like spouses or partners. Therefore, a comprehensive approach like couples counselling is often a critical part of treatment plans to achieve lasting recovery.
Couples therapy helps to address relationship dynamics, conflicts and helps foster healthier interactions, aiding in repairing relationships strained by addiction. It’s suitable for any close relationship and is particularly beneficial once individual addiction treatment has begun to prevent potential relapses. Find out more.

Sober Holidays
Holidays can present challenges for individuals in early recovery due to new environments and changes in routines. Mindful planning is crucial to maintaining sobriety and avoiding potential relapse triggers. To support those in recovery, CATCH Recovery has partnered with New Life Portugal, a leading wellness retreat in the beautiful Serra Da Estrela region. New Life Portugal offers a holistic wellness approach, combining activities like exercise, meditation, yoga, counselling, and coaching in a serene natural setting. The retreat is an excellent choice for individuals in early sobriety, those experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety or depression, or those interested in learning healing techniques such as meditation. Interventions
Research suggests that only a fraction of individuals with substance misuse issues seek addiction treatment, posing significant challenges for their support networks. While there is a common belief that an individual must hit rock bottom before accepting help, this often leads to preventable addiction-related tragedies. Interventions provide an alternative, acting as a powerful tool in battling addiction. They can dispel denial, leverage familial love, and motivate those struggling with addiction towards treatment. Despite fears of confrontation or relationship damage, interventions, when conducted by skilled professionals, can effectively address individuals who dismiss pleas for help, making it a valuable strategy for concerned families and support systems. Our Therapies
Our therapists use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-based therapy. Which therapy will work best for you will be determined by the results of our assessment.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a customised form of “talking therapy” that alters unfavourable attitudes, behaviours, and beliefs that could be obstacles to overcoming addiction. Patients who use CBT learn to recognise the potential relapse triggers, allowing them to alter their responses to them in order to modify the result. Additionally, CBT can teach you how to control your emotions and respond to circumstances in a positive and forceful manner.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT was created to treat the symptoms of emotional regulation disorders and borderline personality disorder, including suicidal thoughts and sadness. Core mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance are the four components of DBT.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing technique.
Ineffective memory processing is seen as the cause of the painful PTSD symptoms by EMDR, a form of individual therapy. Through eye movements, EMDR therapy directly targets these memories in an effort to alter how they are stored in the brain, so diminishing and removing troubling symptoms.
